- Introductions
- Review and critique syllabus
- Familiarize with Vocabulary builder and Blackboard Discussion Board posts
- Form Accountability Groups
- Read Amanda Gorman’s “Earthrise”
- Start vocabulary builder together using the Gorman poem
- Small groups to choose new vocabulary words
- Break
- Discuss vocabulary words and poetic devices
- Discuss ad assignment, using Oatly Advert.
- Discuss ad using rhetorical situation sheet in groups
- Share
- Explain homework: Discussion Board 1. If we have already done vocabulary and rhetorical situations in class, the discussion board is all you have for homework.
HOMEWORK: A. Start vocabulary builder. B. Use rhetorical situation sheets to dissect ads. C. Post Discussion Board One before 11:59 pm. B. Read and respond to two Discussion Board One posts.
