Greetings Scholars! Over the next three weeks, we will be readings and discussing texts by writers including Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Sherman Alexie, James Baldwin, Plato, and Gloria Anzaldua. I hope you love them as much as I do!

I am Professor Yolande Brener and I will be your instructor over the next three weeks. This is my seventh year teaching English at CCNY. I am also a writer, an artist, and a proud grandma. Contemporary memoir, biography, and poetry are my favorite genres.
